Stanisław Wejman

Stanisław Wejman born in 1944. He studied at the Print Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. In 1900-93 he was a dean of the Print Department. Now he is a professor there. He took part in a few hundred group exhibitions and in a few dozen individual ones or with his wife Anna Sobol-Wejman also a printmaker. He won the Purchase Award in ACA Gallery in Calgary (Canada ,1971) and at the International Print Biennial in Fredrikstadt (Norway,1976). He lectured as a visiting professor at the Art Department of the Connecticut University in Storrs (USA,1984-1985 ). He run a course in printmaking at the Concordia University in Montreal (Canada,1990). He practises print ( mostly metal techniques and litography) , painting and drawing. Stanisław Wejman's exhibition “Sentimental Construction Site” was presented at Jan Fejkiel Gallery in 2013 and was awarded by the Witold Wojtkiewicz Award. Works in collections: Museum of Modern Art (NYC, USA), Benton Museum (Storrs, Connecticut, USA), Graphische Sammlung – Albertina (Vienna, Austria), Polish National Museum ( Cracow, Lodz, Poznan), Minneapolis Institute of Art (USA).

The artist had four individual exhibitions in Jan Fejkiel Gallery so far.
