Nothing Changes

Henryk Ożóg was born in 1956. He studied at the Print Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He graduated in 1981. Now he is a professor and runs the Intaglio Studio there. He is also a lecturer at the Higher State Easteuropean School in Przemysl.He practises print, painting and drawing. Most often he uses metal techniques in printmaking : aquatint, dry point, soft-ground etching. He exhibited his works on more than 30 individual shows and took part in about 300 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He won numerous awards and honourable mentions including a distinction and I Prize at the Polish Print Competition in Lodz (1984, 1994), at the Print Biennial in Lubliana (1991, 1997), at the Polish Print Triennial in Katowice (1994, 2000, 2006). In 1997 he won the Statutory Award at the International Print Triennial in Cracow and the Prize of International Exhibition in the Art Museum in Portland (USA). In 2009 the artist was awarded with Grand Prix at the 7th Polish Print Triennial in Katowice.

Henryk Ożóg had four individual exhibitions in Jan Fejkiel Gallery up till now. He also took part in group shows organized by JFG, among others : “The Ironic Portrait”, BWA, Cracow, Poland,1993, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany,1994; “The Element and the Method “, Galerie de la C.G.E.R, France, 1996, Centrum Manggha, Cracow, Poland,1997; “Polish Printmakers – French Poets”, Galerie des Franciscains, St.Nazaire, France, 1995, 1999; “Visible/Invisible”, Turchin Center for Visual Arts, Boone , NC, USA.
